Cara Delevingne sends a message with her Met Gala 2021 outfit - Page Six

Cara Delevingne knows how to make a statement.

The model, 29, walked Sunday’s Met Gala 2021 red carpet wearing a white bulletproof vest emblazoned with the phrase “Peg the Patriarchy,” which was designed by Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri.

“If someone doesn’t know what this means, you’re gonna have to look it up,” Delevingne told Vogue correspondent Keke Palmer.

“It’s about women empowerment, gender equality — it’s a bit like, ‘Stick it to the man,'” she offered.

The outfit caused a major stir on social media. “Cara Delevingne really said that,” one person tweeted.

Chiuri is known for referencing women’s rights in her work, even including Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie-inspired “We Should All Be Feminists” T-shirts ($860) in her debut collection for the French fashion house in 2017.

She wasn’t the only one sending a message at Sunday night’s “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”-themed event; Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wore a white Brother Vellies gown with “Tax the Rich” written in scarlet scroll.

Delevingne’s never been afraid to get person, having recently shown off her “Pussy Palace” during an Architectural Digest home tour and released an NFT video all about her vagina.

The star also serves as co-owner of sex toy company Lora DiCarlo, for those who want to take her message literally.
